Holiday's birthday has definitely become my once a year big creative outlet! Especially with going through infertility, I feel especially blessed to get to celebrate the wonderful child I do have! I thought for sure we were doing a unicorn birthday this year and I had grand visions of pretty pinks and golds, silver platters piled high with pastel macaroons. It was lovely in my mind. However, at some point, the gears in her little brain began turning and she just HAD to have a Sheriff Callie party and she most definitely "needed" to have pony rides and a little barnyard petting zoo. The problem being-- that's kind of what we did last year. Last year was The Bennett County Fair and at some point I got really horse happy and started putting horse silhouettes on everything. I was careful to not go too westerny, but STILL-- this was going to be a major creative challenge for me to create a Sheriff Callie party that was unique and different from last year's party! I think I succeeded, but I can't say for sure since I was the mastermind and not an attendee. I DO know that fun was had by all and the birthday girl was quite pleased and at the end of the day... that's all that truly matters! (A special thanks to Michelle Hanks of Schwager & Hanks Photography for volunteering her time to capture the day! If you live in the Dallas Fort Worth area, be sure to check out their website*)!
