I love the fall. Like really, really, LOVE the fall. I have always loved Christmastime, but the more the years pass, I find myself hanging onto the fall. Mostly because it's the big warm-up for the holiday season. The beginning of all things warm and fuzzy, it's the stuff family traditions and lifetime memories are made of! The weather starts cooling off (which is always a blessed event in Dallas), pumpkin patches, Holiday's big birthday extravaganza, Candy Day (aka Halloween), festivals, Thanksgiving and then the Big Kahuna-- Christmas and all things Kris Kringle, Peace on Earth and Goodwill Toward Men!
As much as I love these seasons and decorating-- I have to start early so I can thoroughly enjoy each and every phase. Since Holiday's birthday is at the end of October and I usually have to move a lot of things around and re-decorate for that, I start decorating for fall on August 1st. I'm thoroughly thankful for fall by late October when I start getting ready for Holiday's party and by November 1st, I'm hauling out the holly. One of the things I always do while decorating is swap out the front facing bookshelves in Holiday's Play Room with seasonally appropriate reading materials. To be fair, I started collecting children's books more than ten years before I had a child, so we have quite the collection.
Since you likely don't have a lot of fall books laying around, I wanted to share with you some of our favorites!
I'm including Amazon links for each of them-- and if you order through the links, I do get credit for them-- so I appreciate the referrals!
